ALLIE POPP
Hi! I am a Junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder and I am double-majoring in art and psychology. Currently, I am taking Digital Art 1 and Beginning Painting at CU. I grew up in the Bay Area, CA where I took painting and photography classes in high school. I became obsessed with the darkroom through my two years of film photography classes. I have loved art since I was a young girl and started visiting museums in San Francisco. I love museums and hope one day I will have my work on display.
I create a variety of artworks including paintings, photographs, prints, collages, sculptures, sketches, videos, etc. My favorite mediums at the moment are colored pencils, photoshop, mod podge, glitter, paint, and magazines. I enjoy mixed media projects the most because they allow me to build unique textures and subject matter. In ARTS 1010 and 1020, I built an armature in the woodshop and am excited to continue creating sculptures. During my free time, I keep a sketchbook that allows me to collect ideas where I can go back and continue any page at any time. My sketchbook shows my artistic progress and interests over the years and I love the casual aspect of it. My favorite thing about art is that I can spontaneously create anything I can imagine. Art is my outlet for creativity and self-expression. I decided to study art because I wanted to have the skills needed to build and create anything I could imagine.
